Dear Friends of Hoops 4 Hope,

I am extremely excited and proud to be launching our new Hoops4Hope blog! H4HGlobal will keep you regularly updated on what H4H is accomplishing and will highlight those people around the world who are passionate about our cause and dedicated to our mission.

Since 1995, HOOPS 4 HOPE (H4H), a global not-for-profit organization, has been committed to supporting youth development and HIV/AIDS education throughout southern Africa by providing more than 10,000 school-age children with our Basketball/Skills 4 Life program.

Of all of the challenges that young people face in southern Africa, HIV/AIDS is certainly the most devastating. It is literally a matter of life or death, but it is just one of life’s challenges they face. Poverty, crime, drugs and lack of proper education are obstacles they must confront each day. Working in clusters of schools, orphanages and community centers and using sport as a vehicle for social and personal change, H4H has empowered children to become productive adults, engaged in healthy lifestyles, and becoming the leaders within their communities and the world.

Integral to our organization are our H4H change agents, the people who truly make the program possible. On the ground, these individuals coordinate and support volunteer coaches, creating safe environments within their communities. In addition to these all stars, coaches and MVPs, it is YOUR continued support of volunteering, fundraising efforts, and generating awareness of H4H that creates sustainability and allows us to keep the hope alive.
